Bobby Bobertson, also known as "Bob", is a Keen rank 8 Paladin portrayed by Justin in The Sunswords and Azveltara Z, and again along with Rob in The New Crew, The Skeleton King and The Senate of Deadlantis.

    Characteristics[edit]

    Appearance[edit]

Bob is a male Keen with a muscular body, green eyes and a grey beard. Bob wears a red bandana covering the top of his head, a red armband tied on his left arm, metallic greaves, two golden rings, a blue loincloth, grey pants and metallic kneepads and boots. Bob also has a brown satchel.

    Personality[edit]

When met with enemies and strangers, Bob sustains a very intense, macho facade for intimidation purposes. However, those close to him will find that he has a much more delicate persona. Bob has also shown a bit of a perverted side such as when he was peeping at Gwyneth Sunsword while she was in her tent for several minutes.

    Battle Style[edit]

Bob tries often to do as much damage he can by using a Grimshade Blade dealing large amounts of damage. He also uses his Dragonskin Bow for long range or spams Honor Chains at targets to slow them down. He uses the Coin of Providence very aggressively.

    Notable Attributes[edit]

    Relationships[edit]

    Gwyneth Sunsword[edit]

Bob is an ex-boyfriend of Gwyneth Sunsword. On several occasions, Bob insists that the child Gwyneth was carrying was actually his.

    Phineas Barringster[edit]

Bob and Phineas have kissed while under the influence of Dave's staff, but still do have some romantic tones in their relationship.

    Are'ani[edit]

Bob and Are'ani flirted for a bit before Are'ani mind controlled him to get him to join Bopen's Crew.

    History[edit]

    Background[edit]

Not much of Bob's history is known. It is known that Bob was a member of the Paladin order for 8 years, ascending to Rank 3 before being kicked out for unknown reasons. Bob later fell in love with Gwyneth Sunsword, which they dated for a short time. They later broke up but stayed in touch.

    The Sunswords[edit]

Bob was a member of a group lead by Gwyneth Sunsword tasked with escorting a prison carriage to the Silvermine Mountains. More specifically, Bob was assigned to guard the prisoners and keep them in line. One particular prisoner, Goggles, seemed to take a notable interest in Bob. Goggles simply claims that he loves all Gnomes despite the fact that his records indicated that he has been known to steal from Gnomes in the past.

During an encounter with Ytts in a perilous canyon, Bob's performance sorely suffered from equipment malfunctions. This lead to Bob inadvertently launching arrows at his own crew mates, which ultimately resulted in the death of Ian Bates. After clearing the canyon, the team set up camp to rest and bury what was left of Ian. While checking up on the prisoners, Bob learned that Goggles had been carrying a Ring of Fire much like the one Bob had recently acquired. At this time, the team was approached by two Goblin merchants who were looking to display their wares. Bob showed some interest in negotiating with the merchants, but the Elves opted to assault and rob the Goblins instead. Unwilling to take part in the mugging, Bob reported to Gwyneth and subsequently peeked at her while she is unaware.

Bob proved to be a prominent ally in the battle against the Flame Spooky, visibly causing considerable amounts of damage with his abilities and dealing the final blow.

While trying to devise a way to get through an ogre blocking a bridge, Bob was ordered by an apparently deranged Phineas to execute Greeky, the Goblin merchant that was taken captive earlier. Bob was unable to bring himself to do so, however, and secretly released the Goblin. Bob failed to convince Phineas that he had done the job, but Phineas (under the effect of the Leader's Heartoak Staff) underwent a sudden, drastic change of heart and made out with Bob.

After falling for Jakelad's ploy to escape from the prison caravan, Bob was one of the last to recover from Jake's Lullaby. When he finally awoke, Bob assisted his squad and the remaining prisoners in holding off and eventually routing the Porc ambushers summoned by Jakelad. Shortly after the skirmish, Gwyneth announced that the previous prisoners would be pardoned due to their acts of valor. Bob then briefly shared a sentimental moment with Goggles as the two seemingly exchanged rings.

    The New Crew[edit]

Later on, Bob decided that he would ask Gwyneth's hand in marriage and sought out passage to the Sunsword Summer Home via a pirate ship by the name of the Bocoe. There he traveled with the ragtag crew, even consisting of his one time lover, Phineas Barringster. Once Bob realized the extreme mental illness that Phineas was displaying, he sought nothing more than to continue on his quest for Gwyneth.

Once they arrived near the Island, Bob agreed to mostly empty the Sunsword mansion, leaving the Sunsword family unharmed and not alerting the townsfolk of the invasion. He kept his agreement, but later returned as a member of Virgo Sunsword's crew and was tasked with gathering the pirates to be taken to the Silvermine Mountains. He retrieved Octavius, but failed to notice Rick Snot hiding away.

    The Skeleton King[edit]

After challenging Clott to a one on one duel, they charge. As Bob begins to draw his Warhammer, Clott conjures a Mighty Breeze spell. This insane gust of wind knocks Bob and 2 other Sunsword Paladins off the ship, and into the Drink.

    The Senate of Deadlantis[edit]

Bob was fished out of the Drink and, a long with the rest of the Survivors, is given the choice of serving Bopen's crew, or dying. Before he is asked, Are'ani takes a liking to Bob, and Bob returns the feelings, which Bopen does not approve of. Bopen then demands Bob join his crew or die, but Bob refuses to join willingly. Bopen stabs him in the chest, and then Phineas gets on board and attempts to save Bob. Although Phineas puts up a fight, Bopen eventually wins and demands Bob join or die from Blood loss. Bob tries to fall off the ship, but Bopen pins him, keeping him on the Ship to let him bleed to death. Are'ani decides to seduce him with her Medusa powers, and Bob is converted to an Ageless, under the servitude of Are'ani.

    Azveltara Z[edit]

Bei Mei X'hirt (under the name Queen of Blood) and Bob entered the Fighting Power 8 Tournament, and both having made it through the preliminaries, having to face eachother in the first round of the Quarter Finals.

Bob runs for the nearby weapon rack at the begining of the match, snatching up a Head Cannon Helmet, firing it at the Bei, who delfects it easily. Bei then runs up and knocks the gnome off balance. Bei then follows up with slicing the Keen's left arm clean off. Bob reattaches his arm by using Lay on Hands, allowing him to stay in the fight.

Bei then pulls out a bottle of Clockodile oil and coats herself with it. Bob attempts to Seismic Slam the Queen of Blood, but is unable to get a grip on the oiled up assassin. This allows Bei to slip out with ease. Bei attempts to gain distance between the two fighters, but Bob uses his Honor Chains to hold the assassin in place. Bob then walks over the nearby table full of Spell Scrolls, egging the crowd to cheer for him as he blindly grabs a spell off the table and begins to channel it. The Spell is Slam Shock, allowing him to charge the side of his body in electricity. Bob them charges the Queen, sending her flying in a circle, pivoting the point of the Honor Chains. Bob then walks over to the battered Elf and picks her up, throwing her, and again she is pulled back by the Honor Chains, barely missing the Keen Gnome.

Bob then turns around, believe him the victor, and cheers on the crowd. However, Bei picks herself back up and fires her Grappling Hook at the Keen, wrapping around his waist. Angry, Bob turns around and charges the assassin, whom simply stabs the Keen the last second with her Billhook. Bei then slices off one of Bob's feet and begins licking the blood off of her blade.

Bob now down and bleeding out, the officials call the match, carrying Bob off to be healed. Bei has won.

    Fate[edit]

Bob is currently a mind slave under the control of Are'ani, who herself is a mind slave under the control of Phineas. He was last seen with the rest of his Ageless shipmates before Bopen traveled to Deadlantis with Phineas. It is not known if any of the crew went to Deadlantis with Bopen, or if they all stayed on the ship.

    Trivia[edit]

    • Bob's section of the Dungeoneer Encyclopedia has excerpts from Dave's Boyfriend Quest, most notably his interactions with Phineas.
    • Bob does not like Kobold Children.
    • Bob shares his last name, race, and a similar first and middle name with Robbie "Rob" Bobertson. It is unknown if they have any relation.
    • In The Senate of Deadlantis, Bob became a mind slave under the control of Are'ani. Slightly afterwards, Are'ani became a mind slave under the control of Phineas. In a sense, Phineas can indirectly control Bob, through Are'ani.
