Timeline

Rob, I want to use an interrupt. Warning! The following page contains spoilers for the most recent campaign! Oh no!

The Timeline of URealms Live is constantly changing as new campaigns create connections between stories. The following is the confirmed canon timeline of the series so far.

There are four rules to this timeline that, if broken, would completely destroy the timeline:

  1. Every character is exactly who we think they are. No characters are actually another character in disguise, and no characters are mistaken for a different character of the same name. This also applies to recurring locations and objects.
  2. No character is a Believer or Ageless who is not already known to be so.
  3. No character had their mind toyed with to alter their memories and character arc.
  4. No character has used time travel or has been resurrected to appear before or after a significant event in their character arc. (Most significantly, their death)

As such, for the purpose of the timeline actually being a worthwhile endeavour it is assumed that by default every character is who we think they are and has not had their mind toyed with in any way. These rules are applied to every connection made between campaigns as long as there is not a reason to believe otherwise. (For example, the Believer rule does not apply to Nisovin because there is valid reason to believe that any Nisovin appearance may actually be a believer.)

Canon Confirmed Timeline With Explanations[edit]

Every timeline is predated by Acts 2 and 3 of The Senate of Deadlantis, as they respectively take place immediately before and immediately after the Birth of Magic, and every other campaign takes place after the Birth of Magic.

Redundant connections[edit]

The following connections can be made between campaigns, but have no impact on the timeline as there are campaigns that are confirmed to take place in between the campaigns being connected. This information may be useful in case any of the information listed above is retconned or proven wrong.

Unconnected campaigns[edit]

There is no information that definitively links The Unseen Rogues to any other campaign in the timeline other than Acts 2 and 3 of The Senate of Deadlantis.

Points of Interest[edit]

The following are things to keep in mind when changing the timeline or adding theories to the section below.

What is Canon?[edit]

What is Not Canon?[edit]

  • Anything said outside a campaign or Coe's Quest episode, by Rob, a player or otherwise
  • Information established through spoken dialogue between characters during a campaign
  • The Many Gobos of Pat
  • Conversations between players and Rob during Character Creation
  • Things that have been retconned (usually in a campaign immediately after they happen)
  • Lords of Minecraft
  • DvZ
  • Unforgotten Realms
  • Unforgotten Quest

Timeline Placement of Band of Thieves[edit]

  • The possibility of something happening is not the same as something happening. For example, K4 could have appeared in The Unseen Rogues instead of Squinks. However, he did not, and therefore his potential appearance has no bearing on canon.
  • Though it was at first teased that Porc Hunters might take place after Band of Thieves when it was mentioned that the Kobold that Dave was escorting was connected to a band of thieves that attacked the Sunswords, this was just to mislead the audience. The prisoner was actually Chimera, not Philhipé, and he was connected to the Murder Bros, not Yumi's band of thieves.
  • Via Word of Rob in the Behind the Scenes video for The Last Beenu, we have been told that Dave's daughter was added to the story of the Nader's Unforgotten Tales episode for Band of Thieves specifically to have The Sunswords take place before Band of Thieves. This was done to keep Gwyneth Sunsword's character intact while still having her behead Philhipe, since prior to The Sunswords, Gywneth would have no motivation to kill the kobold instead of taking him to the Silvermine Mountains. However, this can't be used as evidence due to how Word of Rob is treated in terms of canonicity on this wiki page.

Timeline Placement of Kobold Headhunters[edit]

  • In the Silvermine Mountains campaign, Gwyneth Sunsword mentioned that the elves had done some work in Karazzim in the past. However, this comment has no real bearing on the timeline placement of Kobold Headhunters, and just means that the elves influenced the town at some point.
  • Since it's unclear how the Vampire Locket works, it's also unclear if Kobold Headhunters and Unseen Rogues happen at the same time or not.
    • In The Skeleton King, a vision shows Romulus leaving to find Neena Brando, implying that she is alive and possibly in the same time as Romulus. This may not mean that the campaigns happen simultaneously, but may instead mean that they happen within a short enough time of eachother that both characters are alive at the same time.

Pot Puppies[edit]

  • Pot puppies lives for around a year, this is canon [1], however there is the possibility that a pot puppy could eat dragon scales and therefore live longer. Additionally note that we do not know how long a year is in URealms and so we cannot use pot puppies to measure the aging of characters other than the number attached to their age.

Timeline Placement of Guild of Explorers[edit]

  • In Den of Devils, Raynel and Duke Daring mention how he failed to acquire the Scrolls of the Sandbolds, which is what he was planning to do in Guild of Explorers. One may argue that because this is a fact spoken by a character, it does not make it true. However, Duke Daring had the attribute Famous, which allows the Game Master and Players to make up stories about Duke Daring, and they become fact. Therefore, this can be used to prove that Guild of Explorers predates Den of Devils.

Timeline Placement of The Cobblers and The Death of Virgo[edit]

  • It has been previously stated on the timeline that: "In The Cobblers, Reginald Barringster III has his mind made blank by Borris Cobbler" This has been asserted to prove that The Cobblers is before The Death of Virgo with the logic that with his mind blank Reginald Barringster III could have his mind taken over by legion, resulting in him betraying the party in The Death of Virgo. However it is equally possible that his mind was already taken over by legion and that was cleared from his mind or even that his mind was never taken over by legion in the first place.

Timeline Placement of Silvermine Mountains and Senate of Deadlantis[edit]

Timeline Placement of The Purge and Galen Sunsword: Private Investigator[edit]

Characters appearing in multiple campaigns[edit]

Lieutenant Surge[edit]

  • The mace Lieutenant Surge, held by Ca-rell and Kinney Boots is not a one-of-a-kind weapon. It is merely a mace enchanted with lightning.

Dreamweaver Visions[edit]

  • In The Cobblers and The Skeleton King, Boris Cobbler and Are'ani have visions of the past and future. However, these visions are not canon. There are many ways in which the characters could be incorrectly interpreting the events of the vision or the characters within.

The Word of Rob[edit]

  • Not everything that Rob says is automatically the case for the timeline. If Rob asserts something to be the case, but when reason and logic is applied and it does not make sense, then it is not the case. Rob is only human, he can make mistakes. Also the word of Rob is still under the rule that only things said in campaigns, Coe's Quest, and Nader's Unforgotten Tales are canon.
  • One example of Word of Rob is this (rough) timeline shown in the Den of Devils Behind the Scenes video. While it gives players a generally good idea of what happens when, it has a few flaws, and isn't an official timeline.
  • While Word of Rob is generally considered non-canon, it can sometimes affect how canon is viewed. In one of Rob's Behind the Scenes videos, he mentioned that any time the players sing "Fuck the Kobolds", it has no bearing on the timeline placement, since it's just the go-to song that the players will sing as an in-joke without regard for the timeline. As such, it is generally not a good idea to use that song as proof for timeline placement.
