So how content is nested is using something like this:

=Something= ==Something else nested==

But the only potential problem with this is that there are a lot of hr tags being applied. This may cause potential confusion of which is being nested and which is a new topic as the only difference between the two is text size. Could we have something like the first node be bolded or the nested one be italicized on the template?

I like this suggestion. In fact, I feel doing ==Something== ===Something Nested=== looks a lot cleaner, it's a section, with bold subsections. While, I think ====List Item of Something Nested==== is italicized? Which doesn't look bad, I think.

I think using h1 headers in articles should be avoided anyways. The main heading of the page is h1 and the sections that follow should be h2 (nested with h3 and so on). You can blame me for the usage in this page because I made the first outline. :P
